Food! Rides! Shows! More Food!


You guessed it- it’s time for the Western Idaho Fair! This late summer tradition brings awesome concerts, rides, games, and most importantly…food. The tasty options at the Western Idaho Fair are almost endless…almost.
One of our favorite lines around here is “you can’t out-exercise a bad diet”. Clean eating is becoming increasingly popular, and involves planning your meals with low-carb, unprocessed foods. But one of the best things about clean eating is the occasional cheat meal. What is a “cheat meal” you ask? Well it’s pretty much exactly what it sounds like. A cheat meal is a quick indulgence to feed your cravings while you adhere to a strict clean eating meal plan and exercise regimen. Let’s face it, when we’re sticking to a strict diet, the thing we want most is pizza/ice cream/burgers/soda/all of the above!
Here are Axioms 5 tips about having a ‘cheat meal’:
Plan – do not make your cheat meals spur of the moment, plan out when you’re going to have a cheat meal or a cheat day
Think – don’t forget what you know about portion control, a cheat meal is not an excuse to binge eat
Enjoy – savor it, no guilt!
Limit – if you’re on a clean eating meal plan, limit yourself to one cheat meal per week
Move on – don’t let a cheat meal bog you down or be an excuse for worse eating, enjoy your indulgence and get back on the grind!
The fair is a perfect opportunity to treat yourself and have a cheat meal; there are a lot of tasty options that are only available once a year! Just remember our tips and DO NOT eat anything before you go on the Zipper!
